Attracting Compassion
I keep speaking to people who have been influenced to use the Law
of Attraction in their lives after having watched 'The Secret' .
Some of them report amazing shifts in their life and others feel
frustrated and despondent because the changes don't just happen.
Some of the disappointed ones are rejecting the whole idea of changing
the way they think which is a great shame.
As many people know, the film is based on the teachings of Abraham,
channelled by Esther Hicks. Unfortunately the way that the film portrays
these concepts is superficial compared to Abraham's teachings and
I don't think that people are understanding enough of the true energetic
principles that these ideas are based on. I would recommend that
you read the books by the Hicks if you are interested in these ideas
and watch a DVD of Abraham speaking if you can. I have recommended
the new Abraham book this month.
What all these teachings really come
down to is transforming the way we work with our minds and becoming
more conscious of how our
thoughts and beliefs shape our reality. Esther Hicks says that
knowing what she knows about the impact of our thoughts she has realised
that it is completely unacceptable for her to have negative thoughts
about anyone. I believe that she has worked very hard over many
years
to reach this position - as do many people who commit themselves
to a spiritual path. The Tibetan monks and Lamas that I have met
work hard to refine their thinking and feel true compassion for
all beings - I think that this is a great aim for us all to aspire
to. |
